My students need one box of markers, one box of crayons and one box of color pencils in order to draw self portraits.

My Students

Do you remembering drawing a self portrait? I want my students to embrace their differences and similarities using a variety of art materials.

I teach 22 first graders in a Title 1 School located in a high poverty and high crime area in Pennsylvania.

All of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken.

My Project

I would like my students to create a self portrait for our classroom bulletin board based on the book "We are all the same, We are all different". In order to create our self portraits, we need a variety of art supplies such as markers, crayons and colored pencils.

Please help us get the materials for our multi-cultural bulletin board.

I want my students to be proud of their culture. I want them to express their cultural identity through art. Please help us make their project a reality.
