it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I'm with a Special Needs, self-contained second grade. The children range from ADD, ADHD to Autistic, ED (Emotionally Disturbed) and Learning Disabled and they're Amazing. This school year has yet to begin and they've already got me wrapped around their fingers. My little love bugs are inquisitive, energetic, funny, and are looking forward to being in school and learning. I've seen them in the first grade class, in the hallways and at play. I'm excited to greet them and properly meet them. I welcome them with open arms. They have been through and seen a lot these last couple of years and I know we have a lot of work ahead of us. In a world where they're already at a disadvantage , the chaos and confusion of a pandemic has been added. Some of them are not really aware of what's happening, just that something's different, and some know that something's happening and they're full of questions. This year will be about. satisfying their curiosity to the best of my ability in a way where they can understand.
I'm hoping you'll help me do that.
My Project
As the children return to school this year they will find The New Normal in place. The resources they used to share, now have to be individualized. Everything is in single units and sanitizing is the key word. Laminating sheets will make them reusable and individual. Laminating the worksheets will also cut down on waste and preserve the work as it travels back and forth from home to school. In using this method I hope to cut down on the use of paper and create an awareness of natural resources and conservation of the Earth.
