Let’s Kick It! Recess Soccer Balls for Fun and Fitness

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At our elementary school, recess is more than just a break, it’s a vital time for students to move their bodies, build friendships, and practice teamwork. With many students in grades K-5 sharing our outdoor space, our current supply of soccer balls is worn out and too limited to meet the needs of eager players.
We are requesting 12 durable, age-appropriate soccer balls so that all students, regardless of age or ability, can engage in fun, inclusive games during recess.
From kindergarteners learning to dribble for the first time to 5th graders forming pick-up matches, these soccer balls will be used every day to promote physical activity, healthy play, and positive social interaction.
Soccer is one of the most popular recess activities at our school. With more soccer balls, more students can participate, take turns fairly, and stay active. These materials will support our goal of making recess a joyful, equitable experience for all learners.
