I am a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with a creative and meaningful learning experience.
My music room is full of awesome and hardworking students.
They come from very diverse backgrounds and financial needs. We are proud of these differences and the students enjoy learning from each other.
My Project
In this day and age of COVID, keeping instruments clean and in playing condition is more important than ever. I teach my students how to take care of their instruments, how to clean them, and how to prevent damage, but not all of my students have their own supplies to do so.
My students need their own cleaning supplies, like valve oil and cleaning swabs, especially when learning virtually.
The more instruments we can keep clean and in good working order, the more students that can participate in amazing musical experiences.
