This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a diverse population of students ranging from honors, special education, and English language learners who come from many different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I school which means that students come from many different social and economic circumstances. I teach seventh grade to three different ELA classes every year with thirty students. My students are located mostly in the Elmhurst and Corona area of Queens which has been hit very hard by this pandemic.

Help me give my students the ability to have the items we need to continue to successfully learn. After two difficult years due to the pandemic, I feel my students need socio-emotional support more than ever. We just got a new printer and we have been using it often, so we need some more ink so that we can continue to print without running out. My students ask me to print their lab reports, English reports, and social studies essays for them since they do not have a printer at home. I also want to be able to print out handouts and graphic organizers for them to help them understand ELA topics.
