This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love to play on the carpet with wood blocks and manipulatives. Yet it is always a hassle when everything must be put back in their boxes. These new shelves, complete with individual compartments and bins, will keep everything organized and more accessible for all the students.
My transitional kindergarten class consists of the younger kindergarten students.
Our school is located in a low economic area. 100% of the students are Title 1 and qualify for the Free Federal Breakfast and Lunch program. Most of my students come from families who do not speak English. My transitional kindergarten students are enthusiastic about learning and always try their best. I have seen their language, social and academic skills grow everyday. They have shown me that they have the potential to exceed all expectations
My Project
My students will be able to store their wood blocks on the shelves in an orderly manner. The additional two bookcases will store learning materials in an organized and overall more accessible way. The finger paint, glitter and glue will be used in the arts and crafts activities that enrich students creativity.
These materials will make a great impact in my classroom.
The furniture will provide storage, organization and accessibility for all of the students' resources. The arts and crafts materials will provide the tools needed for students to have the ability to easily express themselves through art.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
