This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Hello! I have the honor of teaching the most exceptionally smart children in the inner city of Cleveland. Many of my scholars come to school ready to learn and succeed. This project will allow me to begin to build an age appropriate leveled library. My students enjoy reading, and I would love to begin to create a classroom library in which every student would have the opportunity to read at least one different book per year. I created a list of high quality yet engaging literature that my students can ready and enjoy throughout the school year. My students will use these books for small reading groups and literature circles. Every day at my school we take ten minutes as a whole school to “Stop, Drop, and Read”. With your donation students will have new and exciting books to read during this designated time of the day! Every little donation matters. Thank you so much!
My Project
These materials will allow my students to engaging in high interest, high quality literature. Many of my students enjoy reading but lack the opportunity to read books that are of interest to them. I selected titles that I enjoyed reading as a child in hopes that this will inspire many of my students to read. I want to build on my class library for my students in hopes that by doing so I can create a greater love of reading for them. I also want my students to be exposed to many different genres of reading. Please consider supporting my students in any way possible!
