My Students

Our class is full of very fun, lively, and curious learners. My students from Washington DC are all 3-4 years old, many of which are in their very first year of school! Our classroom is very diverse; filled with students from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. My students are very enthusiastic about learning, especially through reading. Their love for books goes unmatched!

My Project

These great books will be used to encourage student's interest in reading and learning through a print-rich classroom. Young students often get discouraged from picking up a book since they have not yet learned to read. These books will help build students' confidence as they are incorporated into lessons and activities. Just one book could spark a deep discussion on inclusion, which would help readers create ways to make others feel welcomed and included in our classroom. These books will also help foster letter recognition. Each book was chosen with my students in mind. I have seen the excitement a student gets as we read our books together. It is as if we are jumping into the story ourselves! These books will help continue to bring joy and excitement to my students through reading.
