This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are starting a new unit this month about extreme weather and natural disasters, and how these phenomena affect the people living in the areas they occur. They need to investigate about them in books, videos, or any other media they can use. They are very enthusiastic about this topic, as they are fascinated about the force of nature. However, our classroom library does not have so many books they can use in their research.
My students need more books about natural disasters that can help them understand the effect of them in our lives.
Having those books in both Spanish and English will guarantee access to that information to most of them and will make their research easier.
