This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that my school is a STEAM Academy, so now I need to make sure we are giving our TK students the foundation they need to be successful in following their dreams in the future. We are so lucky to have a play-based program and I would like to give my kids the coolest learning experience possible.

I would love to allow them to explore new Engineering Building and Design Centers, and new fun Hot Wheels (ours seem to have disappeared throughout the years.)

We have 48 amazing 4-year-old students in our TK program. They are very bright, a lot of fun, and bustling with energy. They are almost all English Learners and predominantly Latino. We are a Title I school. All the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Due to changes with Universal TK in California, our students will be younger than ever. While this is an amazing opportunity for more students to receive free preschool, we need to be prepared. Our school is a STEAM Academy, and to prepare our kids for the future, we need to give them the materials they need to learn and grow in a STEAM environment.
