I am a teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with a creative and meaningful learning experience.
My music room is full of awesome and hardworking students.
They come from very diverse backgrounds and financial needs. We are proud of these differences and the students enjoy learning from each other.
My Project
My students have not been in our school building since March 2020 and need a lot of assistance to relearn how to be successful in the school environment. My current 8th grade Band members were the 6th graders who were in the building, until March 2020, all of my 6th and 7th graders are brand new to the middle school environment.
These materials, which I could not provide last year, will help my students to be successful.
The Avery Coding Labels will help my clarinetists and saxophones remember where to place their pinkies on their side keys. The zipper pouches are for my students to put in their Band binders to always have a pencil, because "A good musician ALWAYS has a pencil!"
