This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hi, I am a second grade teacher in a New York City Public School. The children that I teach do not come from the best homes. I would very much like to be able to do more art projects with the kids, but getting parents to send in supplies is like pulling teeth.
Young children like nothing better than making things and being creative. As a teacher, I want to help them to be as creative as they can be. All I have in my room seems to be crayons and glue. I would love to have a full art center with paint, brushes, and paper in my class where children can be children and explore endless creative possibilities.
My classroom currently has very limited paper and a few old paint brushes. I would love to see the smiles on their faces when they get to use new supplies and bring home priceless artwork to show their parents. Please help letting their creativity grow. Thank you.
