Each of our students come to school hoping to experience something new and exciting in their learning. It is my job to ensure that their learning and their personalities grow more confident every single time they enter the classroom.
Our students arrive each day at school with a passion to learn and their hearts are full of perseverance and determination.
At our school 1/3 of the students come from households considered to be at or below the poverty level.
Our students are warriors that fight for their learning every day in school to reach their educational goals. They are some of the most determined young people you could ever imagine.
"Why can't I do this?", heartbreaking words from every one of my students at some point during the school year. Learning can be an arduous task that cause my students anxiety, frustration, and often tears. My goal is to change that, to provide students with an innate sense of their abilities and offer learning opportunities that help them succeed.
Please help me offer them exciting learning opportunities that can change their lives.
My Project
My students have contacted our local Humane Society for Animals to find out how we can learn more about helping adoptable animals find homes. They have asked us to do research and surveys on what could persuade someone to choose an animal that is available for adoption.
We are asking for 3 Dell laptops in order to research/conduct animal adoption surveys and to create a newsletter featuring adoptable animals.
The laptops will allow us to create a weekly newsletter for our school that will feature available pets for adoption as well as surveys.
We will collect the survey answers and graph/chart them on the laptop. We will provide our findings to the Humane Society so that they will have a better understanding of what they can do to encourage people to adopt animals.
Our hope is to provide adoptable animals a larger audience and increase our school's compassion for animals.
