My students are curious, creative, and always up for a challenge! My younger students - in grades K-2 - learn how to move, sing, and improvise in many different musical contexts. My older students - in grades 3-4 - explore and create music by using music technology and instruments. I find it so inspiring to see the enthusiasm these students have for music and for learning.
These materials will mainly be used in a special education music class. Multiple students in this class often do not or rarely respond verbally. The answer buzzers, wireless mics, auditory feed back phones and other materials in this project will give them more ways to explore and understand how to use their singing voices. These materials will also be used in my kindergarten music classes. One of the main goals for kindergarteners is to be able to access and begin to control their singing voice by the end of the school year.
I am looking forward to being able to give my students more manipulatives to allow them to explore and create music!
