This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 6th grade social studies in the southwest side of Chicago. This is my first year teaching sixth grade. The school I work for has a large population of Latino students whose first language is Spanish.

The majority of students are from low-income families.

Each and everyone is special and talented in their own way. You have the comedians, Einsteins, the needy, etc. They are all special to me.

Having headphones will be of great help for all. When I say all it’s because I will teach three sets of classes.

My Project

Headphones play an important role in our classroom. My sixth grade class take important state and city assessments using Chromebooks. They need to have good headphones to be able to hear clearly the directions, prompts, stories, etc.

Many of the headphones are broken.

I want to request a brand new set of sturdy headphones for the classroom to use when they are taking a test, working with Stride Academy, or simply reading stories they can follow along the work productively without being disturbed. Sixth grade is tough and a benchmark grade but exciting for students. Please help give good headphones for my students
