Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our classroom is made up of a diverse group of learners from a poor inner city community. Although poor, these students are linguistically rich and share an enthusiasm in their quest for knowledge. They come from predominantly Spanish speaking homes and come to school and learn a second language; English. They are like sponges and soak up all we have to teach them and more! They absolutely love being at school each day and are so happy to show everyone what they have learned.
My Project
These headphones will be used for a computer program that my students use to become proficient English speakers. They need the microphone in order to practice what they’re hearing. Practice makes perfect!
Also, our class takes part in an online math program to use with their math curriculum on chrome books.
It makes for a much quieter learning environment when each student has their own pair of headphones.
In second grade, we are preparing the students for standardized testing, which is given on the computer. So, this will be good test taking practice and get good use out of these headphones!
