Our special students demonstrate that they can learn in many wonderful ways. We would like to showcase their achievement so that parents, administrators and children of all abilities can see and celebrate their progress.
I teach young children with multiple disabilities.
They are a wonderful group who love to learn. It is a joy to provide them with unique and meaningful learning experiences. Many of our students have physical challenges as well as medical issues and cognitive impairment. Although their challenges are many, their enthusiasm and positive spirit empower us to develop their skills and increase their level of independence at school, home, and in the community. We are proud of their accomplishments and want to find creative ways to showcase their abilities.
My Project
Our special students are learning to become more independent in school, at home and in their communities. We want to empower our students and give them the confidence they need to succeed. We want them to view themselves as winners and achievers. Our class also wants to help others to see our students as individuals who can achieve their goals and make remarkable progress as long as they have a circle of friends to support them. Bulletin boards with pictures of our students in action will help us to make this a reality. I have requested large foam boards to help showcase our students work. Photography is a key way for us to demonstrate that our children can learn important skills. We would place the pictures on foam boards in the hallways of our school so that everyone can see them. I also asked for cardstock paper and sheet protectors to make photo journals for each child. These materials will help all of us celebrate the achievement of every child.
We believe so strongly in our students abilities.
We want others to see their abilities rather than their disabilities. We want to change the hearts and minds of people toward children with multiple disabilities. Please help us do this by funding our proposal.
