My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds and have a deep concern for the well-being of others! They are constantly observing the emotions of the classmates around them and trying to encourage those who seem down. They know how to reach out with kind words and hugs. They are also thoughtful artists and wordsmiths, writing thoughtful notes or sketching funny drawings to cheer each other up! They are craving other ways to express their love and care, and I want to feed that fire as fast as possible!
My Project
The printer will allow for my students' needs to be met through differentiation. Being in a Title I environment, many of my students come from unique cultural and linguistic backgrounds, thus making English language accommodations a necessity in all curriculum subjects. With a raging pandemic, countless students have been forces to quarantine for weeks. Instead of halting their progress, I have supplied them with differentiated work to complete while at home.
Not every student has access to the internet, thus making printed materials essential.
My students will be able to build upon their vocabulary, improve their reading skills, and access the content in meaningful ways through the help of these individualized materials. These headphones are necessary because listening devices will help my 5th graders access good interpretive reading to support comprehension, as well as listen to playbacks of their own reading voices to self-assess their fluency whether they are working on virtual assignments at home or in the classroom.
