Our kindergarten, first, and second grade students attend a charter school that provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in life through our unique Micro Society program. Our school is the only Micro Society school in the state. Students participate in a legislature, establish their own ventures and agencies, and pay taxes. We work to ensure that all students have a voice and choice in their education. We strive for all of our students to become individuals.
Our students are a unique blend of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
They are creative and full of wonderful ideas. By fostering their creativity, we are hopeful to inspire our earliest learners to continue on a path of innovation.
My Project
We are requesting an artist to come to our school and teach ceramics to our students. Our hope is that our students will have the opportunity to express their creativity and gain self-confidence through ceramic making. Our students will learn to “see” like an artist by being observant and paying attention to detail. In addition, they will create a ceramic project. Each student will get to learn the fundamentals of clay making while creating and glazing their project.
All children are creative.
We want to nurture this creativity early in life and have every student feel they can produce quality art. Donations to this project will give students exposure to the art of clay making. It will also allow the students to experience ceramics education that they would not otherwise receive.
