This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Have you ever gotten to work in a garden? If you have, you know the joy, learning, and excitement of being in nature, seeing the plants grow, and picking the food when it is ready for harvest.

Here at our Title 1 school, our students have a brand new garden area but no garden yet!

We have the garden boxes and soil, but need seeds, tools, and supplies to create our outdoor garden classroom. In this space, students will be able to engage with our environment learning, plant, have learning outside in the garden area, and discuss health and nutrition around our food and where it comes from.

The materials chosen will help us get our garden going. We need basic supplies, seeds, gardening tools, and supplies for replanting and soil testing. All of these will support our Los Angeles public elementary school in science, communication, health and more through the year. We appreciate any support you can give!
