This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I have a lofty reading goal. I want all of my 27 students to read for a minimum of 30 minutes a day, average 85% or higher on computer comprehension quizzes, and read within their individual reading zones. I have books, but I need a Microsoft Go Tablet to cycle students through reading quizzes.

I teach 27 eager first grade students who enjoy learning how to read, write, and do math.

My students range from gifted and talented to below grade level. We are proud to be a Nationally Recognized School of Excellence and have won many prestigious awards. Since we are not a Title I school, funding extra projects is very difficult!

My Project

I need a Microsoft Go tablet to cycle more students through reading comprehension quizzes. My motto is read, read, and read some more. We start each day reading a short science story. The next day, we read the same story again. After the second reading, my students take an Accelerated Reader quiz on their book. I want my students to average 85% or higher on their comprehension quizzes to boost their confidence and fluency scores. I would also encourage my students to read their library books and take their quizzes on Our Microsoft tablet. I know how to help my students master reading, but need a tablet to maximize efficiency during reading quizzes. We also have access to 10,000 books on the Internet. The Microsodt Go tablet would allow more students to read books in class.

If we had a tablet, more students could read one of 10,000 Internet books in our classroom.

I want my students to read books on their individual level for 30 minutes per day and take Accelerated Reading quizzes with the goal of averaging 85% or higher. A tablet would allow more students to practice reading skills and take quizzes. If you help us meet these goals, we will be awarded "Master Certification" through the Renaissance Company and will be on their National Honor Roll List.
