My Project

It's time again for a fresh start! I teach in a school where the student population is linguistically and culturally diverse, and which serves a community with families from all over the world. I am always looking for highly engaging, creative ways to tap into my students' hunger for knowledge and their curiosity about the world, whether it is through art, music, dance, or literature. I see the exciting possibilities that I can make available to my students who need opportunities to explore creative and critical thinking through different learning modalities.

This project will help replenish basic classroom supplies that were used and worn out from last year, and which are vital necessities for my students to learn all the subjects I am excited to teach in the upcoming year.

The composition notebooks will be used by my second graders which, even though it's listed as a 3rd grade notebook, has the ideal wide-rule spacing on each page for weekly journal entries they will be writing. It's my hope that these notebooks will become my students' close writing companions throughout the school year, tools that will allow them to articulate their original thoughts, express themselves, and show off their learning in an organized way. The dry erase markers and pocket sleeves will be used for daily writing (grammar and spelling) and math practice, as we work together to solve word problems. I will be using the Avery labels to identify students' supplies (folders, pencils, notebooks) with their names.
