This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The richest language opportunities happen during play! I'd love to add to and re-vamp my toys for speech therapy. With my youngest students (ages 3-5 years old), speech therapy is all play based! Fostering language through play is a skill that must be developed.

Play is the foundation for language and social emotional skills.

Using toys such as board games and play-doh allows me to model rich and functional language, work on social skills with peers like waiting, sharing, turn taking, negotiating, and best of all, helps me foster deep and loving relationships with my students.
