This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are enthusiastic learners, explorers, and are passionate about learning. They are our future bilingual leaders! Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. For English language learners, hands-on education is important to my students and is truly valued.
I would like to have options for my students to get off their cell phones and go play outside and just be kids.
Part of learning is being able to play and have brain breaks. Some of the resources I have requested include: garden shovels, wildflower seeds, sunflower seed, coneflower seeds, spotato sack race bags, giant bubble wands, and a chair.
I am an English Language Development teacher at an Oklahoma City high school in an impoverished urban area. Many of my students do not have access to reliable internet at home and rely on our school's online virtual classroom for exposure to educational technology.
Our population of students is often exposed to various levels of trauma. Studies have shown that being creative, or even drawing, reduces anger, fear, and stress and increases pleasant feelings. Our kids often do not have access to updated levels of technology. They should not suffer for their circumstances and I want to make learning an unforgettable, healthy, productive, and magical experience for them!
Our students live in a neighborhood where new up-to-date technology options are not available. I want to create an opportunity atmosphere that will make learning fun.
