Let's Go Outside to Learn!

Help me give my students an iPad Pro and Apple TV for a more enhanced way to develop their literacy and numeracy skills. It will give us the chance to take learning outside.

My Students

My students are so creative, full of energy and lovers of learning. They not only show me how smart they are in our virtual classroom but they also share how they are infusing their learning from home. However, I have students from all levels of support. For example, I have a student who is now creating a cooking show on You-tube, because of our measurement lesson. I have another student who built a gingerbread house because they wanted to show me how they can concentrate on a big task. However, I have several students who don't have a strong support from home for various reasons. There are times that they can't show up for virtual learning or they don't have the means to go beyond the lessons taught. In spite of how the pandemic is affecting (or inspiring) them, each of them are showing patience and empathy. I am one lucky Teacher to have them--especially during this unprecedented time--and I can't wait to be able to see them, in-person, to bring out the whole student no matter the circumstance! When that happens--we are going places beyond the classroom.

My Project

This pandemic has taught me that I must be MORE creative & think outside the box. In this case, I'm thinking outside--literally! Across the country, I'm inspired by Teachers who are conducting class outside. The iPad Pro and Apple TV will give me the opportunity to use technology anywhere in or outside the classroom! My students who lack motor skills can use the iPad to show me their thinking; it'll provide opportunities to problem-solve with puzzles & games for every student, and I can use less paper to conserve for my community. I'm excited about the possibilities!
