My Project
As part of my new endeavor as library media and computer science kumu for our entire school, I envision a room being redesigned and repurposed into a recording studio for students to become producers of digital content and digital stories.
This room will include a green screen to allow students to think and imagine outside of the box as green screens offer endless academic and social applications!
The materials I am requesting will help us get a kick-start to our media production curriculum that I will use with preschool through 6th grade. I am also requesting several ipad tripod stands that will allow for students to work in groups or partners to film and edit movies! The modular stool will also allow students to create little nooks to read, record, and hang out in the library space.
Now just try and picture it with me for a bit - a space where preschoolers could act out running from a fire breathing dragon, or second graders could swim underwater with sharks, third graders explore outer space and take a run around the rings of Saturn, or sixth graders getting a chance to roam ancient Egypt in search of the tombs of pharaohs! Don't those ideas sound fun, engaging, and motivating? I am hoping that with the creation of a media production room it will allow students to apply the skills we learn together into their own homeroom classes.
