Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are a part of the Dual Language Program and are an amazing group. They are curious and creative. This project is intended to be used to boost creativity and engineering in my classroom. I would love to give my students LEGO sets so that they can build different things with them. The NASA one that is included is all about women in space. I want my students to see that men and women can go to space. I have also included a marble run that would promote building and creativity. I envision having STEM groups in the afternoon with different students on the computer and using these materials.
Engineering needs to be fostered and what better way than through play?
These materials would promote STEM thinking in my classroom and give my students an opportunity to play with LEGOs that they do not have experience with.
