My Project

Imagine walking into a first grade classroom and being transported into the heart of the great outdoors—without ever leaving school! That’s exactly what my students will experience on our special Camp Day—a magical, immersive day of hands-on learning and imagination.

To bring this day to life, my first graders need some essential supplies: camp vests, explorer hats, and binoculars to help them feel like real adventurers.

We'll transform our classroom into a full camp experience, including a ball pit that becomes a fishing pond where students will fish for compound words. They'll cheer with excitement as they "catch" new words and learn through play!

We’ll also gather around an indoor marshmallow roaster (safe and flameless!) to "roast" marshmallows while we read campfire-themed stories. After reading, students will use Play-Doh to build and spell the new vocabulary words they’ve discovered.

This camp-themed day will build literacy skills, spark creativity, and make learning an unforgettable adventure. With your help, we can turn our classroom into a place where imaginations run wild and learning feels like play.
