Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I want to incorporate more self care and social emotional learning in my classroom. My assistant that works with me is a yoga instructor and in the mornings she wants to have short adapted yoga sessions with our students. The lessons will consist of breathing, simple stretches and simple yoga poses.

Many of my students have sensory issues and participating in yoga will help them manage their anxiety and regulate their emotions.

This in turn will help my little scholars have a productive and meaningful day of instruction and learning.
