Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first graders have been learning and working in person after a year of online learning. It has been a transition to return to school while keeping safe in the classroom. This year, my students have been using individual pencil boxes to store their pencils, crayons, and scissors in order to keep supplies separated. However these pencil boxes have not been sturdy enough for the amount that first graders use their materials. Next year, with these caddies, students will be able to choose a color for their supplies. It is enough space for them to keep materials easily accessible. These caddies are sturdy enough to use year after year.
First graders can be responsible for their learning materials.
Having the number line displayed in the classroom will allow my students to use it as a resource on a daily basis throughout the day.
