Each student in my classroom has different needs and ability levels but they are passionate about learning. Many of the students in my class come from diverse, low income families.
The kids are from a rural county in Western North Carolina.
Every school in the district is a title one school. Funds for any extra manipulatives and classroom supplies are very limited. Manipu;latives enrich the learning experience for those students who do not have the opportunity to use outside of the school setting.
I have been working as an assistant teacher for 18 years but this year I finished my degree and am now a first year teacher. My students and I would appreciate any help making our first year together a successful one.
My Project
These materials will help enhance the learning environment in the classroom. It will also help to keep students motivated and organized! The room will be bright and inviting for the students.
Students will enjoy the superhero theme.
I plan on using this theme as part of my behavior plan to get them excited about doing the right thing and treating others with respect and caring.
I want them to know they are special, super students and they can do anything they set their minds too. I wanted them to become SUPER readers, writers, mathematicians and caring friends to their peers.
