"Today's Readers are tomorrow's Leaders." My students will be exposed to different types of literature from topics ranging from volcanoes to the Revolutionary War, but what they need most are books that speak to their own interest. I am trying hard to build a full and diverse classroom library.
My students are fantastic fourth-graders, who in just the few weeks that school has been in session, they have already amazed me!
They come to school each day prepared and eager to learn. So, I spend each day thinking of how to make their day more enjoyable - I love hearing that they think school is fun!
I have already learned that there are dancers, singers, inspiring actresses, writers, dreamers, comedians and basketball stars among the group.
My Project
My students need new books for their classroom library: Level L, O, P, and Q. The books I requested are new books on the students current and up-coming reading levels. The students will use these books for their independent reading time, reading homework and casual reading time. The books will be placed in our classroom library and the students will be able to take out a book at their leisure. I encourage students to browse our library and take-out books as often as they would like.
I think we already know just how important books are to young (and old) minds so I won't explain.
I will just say that these books will not only improve the classroom library, it will also improve my students reading levels. We work hard each day to bring the students' reading levels to grade level or above! And giving the students interesting reading books will help encourage my students to read often.
