Ms. Palmer from Fayetteville NC is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need these 5 Chromebooks and 3 ipads to help increase their ability to conduct research for class projects, to increase their technological skills and complete task in ELA, math, science, social studies and coding.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are eager learners who enjoy learning through the use of technology. Most of my students comes from a military household and they move from place to place every now and then. My kids have to live without a mom or a dad for a while and it hurts them really bad. For them to face this reality at their age and have to cope through this and are enthused to learn is unspeakable for me as their teacher.
My students are eager to learners. Their favorite part of the day is when they get to use technology. As a teacher that wanted my students to be engaged, I went ahead and purchased 6 reasonable tablets. My students are unable to use them effectively because the county requires certain types of resources. They get extremely excited but then their spirits damped when they do not work effectively. We have limited access to technology. With the extra technology in my classroom, instruction could be more individualized and focused on the specific needs of my students. Most of the time students wait their turn and some days only some students get a chance to work on the computers and one or two students get to use the iPad. I want to expose my kids to the amazing things they can use with technology while enjoying learning. We will also use these resources in ELA and Math centers to focus on the individual needs of the student.
These resources will encourage critical thinking, they will be used to teach students the basics of coding and to integrate technology to assist students with different learning styles.
This will help students stay engaged and motivated to learn. The teacher will be able to get quick feedback on the students growth and will be able to effectively differentiate instruction to cater to the needs of her students.
