Technology devices are everywhere in our communities. My students have not had the opportunity to utilize hand held computer technology devices to extend learning opportunities. It will be amazing to see how techie that can become to motivate their learning experiences.
I service students in grades kindergarten, first and second grade that have learning gaps that need to be closed to work on grade level.
The students that I serve receive EIP services for both reading and math. My students live in a low urban economic area in Georgia.
We need two iPad minis for innovative technology experiences to engage in to close the academic gaps in our EIP class. I believe this resource will have an increasing motivational factor on student progress. I have various learning styles in my class and the iPad mini will assist all learning styles. The students will have the opportunity to interact with learning activities, assessments and online stories. The best feature is being able to interact with various RTI computer based Interventions to help fill the the learning gaps. The students will become very Techie and become independent learners.
Bringing something new and innovative to the classroom to provide the exposure and experience of using technology to learning is priceless.
The majority of the students that I serve do not have home computers, laptops or tablets in their homes. The resources in this project will change that lack of technology and give the students the ability to experience 21st Century Technology in their community. This project will make using an ipad a reality and not just something that is heard or seen.
