My students need two iPad minis and two Botley the coding robots to enhance their learning into the 21st century. My students would get to learn first hand how to code.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kindergarten is the beginning of learning. My students come from a high poverty area and are second language learners. 100% students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many students get a bag for weekends to make sure they have food for when they are home. My students have very difficult challenges and may not have the support a teacher would hope they would have to be successful.
These challenges do not stop them from coming to school with a bright smile and an eagerness to learn something new.
In my classroom, students come to school with very limited language but that will not stop them from participating in learning. We have a community based classroom where we help each other learn difficult concepts and we provide support for each others learning.
My Project
iPads provide many educational apps that lead to programs that will ignite an authentic enthusiasm for learning through technology. These iPads will provide a differentiated approach to reading fluency and literacy mastery. Our dream is the possibility of reaching our reading goal this year and be on grade level before we move on to the next school year.
School may be the only place some of my students can have the opportunity to engage in activities that involve the most up-to-date technology.
With these iPads and robots I hope to bring a spark for learning to our classroom and allow my students to access rigorous educational games and activities, locate leveled reading books, practice coding skills using Botley playsets and research curriculum areas. Having these materials will bring coding to life in our enriching hands on learning classroomm
