Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our classroom computers are slow, outdated, and constantly having issues. Despite this, my students flock to them because learning through technology is something that interests and motivates them. But unfortunately these computers can't keep up with my students needs.
My students are 5 year old children who live in a low socio-economic community.
The majority of students are English language learners. They are great kids, but many times have to deal with difficult situations in their lives. Though our school may not be located in a great area, we work hard to give our students an inviting place to learn and experience new and memorable things and an opportunity for a better life.
My Project
The Nook tablets that I am requesting will be used in my classroom in a variety of ways. It will serve as a wonderful resource for students throughout the curriculum and also allow for extra free time for me to work with students in small groups. In addition, the Nooks will bring more updated technology into the classroom. Students will be able to use the educational apps and websites to hone and improve the skills they learn in class, from reading and writing to math and science. They will be engaged and motivated to learn.
In this day and age, it is important for students to have access to new technology.
I believe these Nooks will give my students a new experience in learning. They will allow my students to have an interactive and hands-on approach to reaching their full potential.
