Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are part of a Spanish/English dual language immersion program that promotes bilingualism, bi-literacy and multicultural awareness in education. In my class I promote leadership habits and a positive growth mindset. We can learn from our mistakes and help one another grow socially and academically. In my class I am not the only teacher, my students have a positive impact on one another and we all learn from each other.
My students help create a positive learning environment where multiple languages and cultural heritages are validated and respected.
Together we help make our school the best possible place to learn.
My Project
Providing all my students with the needed supplies will help them be prepared for the learning that will take place in our classroom. Students will each receive a pencil pouch with all the necessary material to complete ongoing writing assignments and engaging classroom projects. As we begin our year together I like to teach my students how to become responsible learners and how to take care of our learning tools to be successful not only in class but in real life too. Every disciplinarian has a tool kit, as scholars my students need that too, to create a learning pathway of success.
