My Project
With all the rain we have been getting here at school, the heavy brush keeps getting thicker and thicker. We recently received a chipper/shredder to have at the farm, but we don't have enough tools to chop the heavy brush to be chipped. These axes and hand saws will make it easier for the students to cut the brush and push it into the shredder to be broken down.
Learning proper techniques with heavy machinery and also the protective materials needed to be safe will be a life long lesson for many of my students.
Many of them will continue to do this kind of job into adulthood, and so learning this now will help them get a head start to a future career. Our farm is so huge and having to do things by hand sure makes it hard to maintain. Having these materials will make it easier to keep the brush under control and keep our farm looking nice for years to come.
