My Students

I am blessed to get to work with small groups of students from different grade levels throughout the day who fall in the 10th-25th percentile in reading and/or math. What I love best about these students are their personalities and their drive! I pull students who need a little extra support and help on their journey to becoming independent readers. What makes them special is that they don't quit! These kids know that reading is a struggle but they come in every day and work to get better!

My Project

Let's get ready to wobble! This grant will fund 6 wobble stools for my small group classroom. I am an interventionist. I work with small groups of students who fall in the 10th-25th percentile in reading and/or math. Most of the students I serve have trouble focusing. After doing some research on wobble stools, I asked my school psychologist if I could borrow her wobble stool for a week to see if it helped my students stay focused. The wobble stool has been a hit in our room! I am asking for funding to be able to purchase 6 ebony 15 1/2 inch NeoRok wobble stools from School Specialty Select.

The school goal that would be met by implementing this project is that test scores and student achievement will go up.

These stools provide gentle movement for a calming effect. This calming effect will result in students being more engaged in the lesson, allowing them to learn at their maximum.
