The Reading Rumble Reading Program and Competition is a District Wide Reading Competition that promotes imagination through story telling, encourages a continued love for learning and reading, teaches friendly competition and fosters an all around LOVE for books. In training for the competition, students are motivated to read, monitor their own comprehension, and become active participants in book discussions.
The Reading Rumble also encourages and challenges students to read quality literature based on a variety of topics and themes.
They get to explore genres that they would have, otherwise, never picked up independently. In order to accomplish and promote all the wonderful opportunities mentioned, we need class sets for our students to participate in Reading Reading Rumble Program.
Students gain knowledge and enjoyment from reading engaging literature, especially at their own leisure. In order to participate in the Reading Rumble Reading Program and Competition, students must read a variety of books chosen by the district. Each student having copies of each of the books allows them to read at home and school to prepare for bi-weekly meet-ups and for the competition in April.
