You know they say practice makes perfect. My students require a lot of practice and thrive on repetition of words and sounds to help them become better readers.
My students are special needs students grades K - 2.
Our school is an urban school with a high percentage of free lunches. We also have a large population of English Language Learners. The students in my class will steal your heart. They come to school every day ready to learn. They are full of energy and enthusiasm, and LOVE to read.
My Project
The card reader I am requesting is a machine that reads a strip at the bottom of a card. The students can use the card reader to listen to the word/sound they are working on over and over again. I can even record my voice or their voice reading the word! My students love to use technology of any kind and will have a great time learning their sight words and identifying sounds with this device.
Donating to this request will allow my students to have the repetition they need in a fun way.
I know it will improve their reading skills, and that is the most important thing we can do for our children.
