My students are hardworking and motivated to make the best out of the situation that is at hand. They working tirelessly to complete their work and are doing the best they can. They have had their normal day to day life uprooted and changed with the blink of an eye! They are struggling academically as well as on a personal level as well. As their teacher, I am trying to find ways to keep them engaged and motivated to keep learning.
My students love to learn and want to succeed more than ever!
My students are special needs students and need hands-on, visual learning. My students are currently learning in their home environments, some of them in cramped, tiny spaces with siblings who are learning as well, and some in shelters. Their environments make it hard for them to learn, and I want to try to make it easier for them to learn.
My Project
I never thought I would be teaching from home and that my students would be learning "virtually" which is a tough job to do! But we are making it work and learning together as we progress through this time!
The materials included in this project will not only help my students during this time at home, but get them ready for next school year when the time comes!
We are a Title I school where most of these students struggle to have the necessary tools in the classroom and at home every day. As a teacher, I supply these items every year to make sure we have a successful school year! When it comes to taking notes within the classroom, I have color-coded notebooks for the students for each subject, so being able to provide them for them to keep them organized. Having the tools like scissors where their finger will fit, post -it notes to annotate books, and expo markers to make their lessons interactive with whiteboards. Having access to these materials will help my students' work come alive!
