My Students

Our Second Graders are brave, enthusiastic, and creative thinkers. These students are in an inner-city school setting where poverty is a struggle for many of our families. My students constantly show me what perseverance and determination is day in and day out. It seems that no matter how big the obstacle is, these kids make it happen. I am extremely proud of my students and continue to be astonished as to what they can accomplish each year. These second graders enjoy technology and engineering, one of our big focuses is on science and technology within the classroom. Students are constantly challenged to think creatively and solve problems through investigation. My students work extremely hard in school and are always doing their best. However, the greatest asset my students have is not their ability to persevere but their ability to encourage and push their peers to do the same. These students strive to spread positivity and encouragement to their friends and classmates every day. As an educator I could not ask for a more outstanding group of students.

My Project

As we return to school, we are beginning to see the successes as well as the problems and struggles our students are facing with coming back to in person learning. The biggest struggle right now is our students mental and physical health. Students are nervous and unsure of this new way of learning and Shields for each of them will allow them to breathe a little easier knowing they have an extra layer of protection!

We as grade 2 teachers, have spent countless time and money trying our best to make our classrooms safe and fun places for our students, however these desk shields will help students in our classroom this year and the years to come!
