My Project
In my classroom, I am passionate about teaching my students the love of reading so that they will be lifelong readers. The love for reading starts at a young age. Some students come to fourth grade without being exposed to a variety of quality books. It is my goal to expose my students to chapter books, biographies, non-fiction, fiction novels and a more diverse selection. In my classroom we choose a chapter book to read in class and read as a whole group daily. We read books of all genres and even do multiple author studies. We display these books in our library in book tubs. Almost every year I have had to buy or replace bookshelves because the cheaper bookshelves don’t hold up more than a couple of years. My project goal is to create an organized library with quality bookshelves that are made to last so students can enjoy reading our diverse quality books. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy and I want that to continue by making books safely accessible to students. If our library looks inviting, and not with broken shelves, students will want to use it more during free time. I have lots of books and character stuffed animals so please help me share these with students on sturdy bookshelves that will last for years!
