My Students

My students come from primarily low income families. We are a neighborhood school and have a teaching staff dedicated to providing for all the needs of our students. These students are the recipients of clothing, food, gifts during the holidays and are always grateful. I want them to harness their gratitude to make a difference in other people's lives.

My Project

With this project we will be starting a graphic novel lunch club. Using these Toon Books students in the club will get to explore the graphic novel genre and learn more about the format of this style of book. With the help of these Toon Book examples students will begin to explore and create their own graphic novels. Students who would like to will experience the "publishing process" by having their completed works added to the library collection right along side the books from this project. Students who are not in the Graphic Novel club will also borrow and love reading these books!
