Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have quite a few obstacles to overcome but they are up for the challenge! They attend a Title I school in a low socioeconomic area. Many of them eat both breakfast and lunch at school and this may be their only meal for the day. Some of them have been exposed to much more than any 7 year old should ever see.
Despite all the challenges they face, they come to school ready to learn!
They have fun at school and try to exceed my expectations all the time! They absolutely love reading! It is one of my passions and they have been infected with my excitement. Another one of my passions is integrating technology into my teaching. My students have taken to this like second nature. I am so proud to be their teacher, and I am looking forward to doing all I can to helping them reach all of their goals in second grade.
My Project
Teachers Pay Teachers is a valuable resource I find myself turning to time and time again. There is just something about a teacher-written resource that really gets to the heart of what other teachers are looking for. I would like to purchase a reading intervention program that was written by a primary teacher. With this program, my student will gain access to materials that will help them learn the skills they need to succeed in reading. Every reader is on their own unique pace and some readers just need a little more time and explanation.
