This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

By the end of the year, my goal is for my students to write and edit their own stories independently. My challenge is to get them to think of themselves as writers, even though they have lots of good ideas.

My second graders are a talkative, curious bunch.

They are eager to learn and constantly asking questions and telling stories. My students are English speakers, but are learning academic English to prepare them for higher learning opportunities and their future careers. They attend an inner city school where all students receive free lunch.

My Project

My students are fortunate to have iPads in the classroom and enjoy using them to create stories and reports. The problem is we have no way of printing their wonderful projects they have made. The HP All-in-one printer is AirPrint compatible and will make printing our class projects easy to share and display in the classroom.

By funding this project, my students will be able to publish their stories and share them with classmates, friends, and family.

They will improve their writing skills and gain confidence as writers. My students will be excited and be motivated to write more stories when they can see and hold their published works.
