My Project

In today's high stress environments, kids need to learn the value of exercise, breathing techniques, meditation, and affirmation. Yoga is the perfect way to calm the mind, focus, and relax.

The yoga mats and blocks in this project are for students to develop the healthy habit of exercise, self-affirmation, relaxation, and life balance.

Yoga teaches so much more than physical exercise. Yoga is a way to calm the mind and set goals. Many of my students experience anxiety and depression. The breathing techniques taught in yoga help to quiet the mind and slow down the heart. Yoga also helps students build positive techniques for dealing with emotions and stressors.

I have taught at this school for eight years, and know that many of my kids have difficult home lives. Unfortunately, their home lives impact their learning. I believe yoga can give my kids the tools they need to center themselves and refocus, so they can give their all to learning.
