This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 18 Preschool students are full of energy and curiosity in learning and exploring new activities. Even thought they are between the ages of 3.4 and 4 years old, their curiosity and eagerness to try new things allows me to teach many concepts using physical activities. Their willingness to take risk and have fun while learning by incorporating different gross motor activities makes learning engaging and joyful.
They adore to play with balls, hola hops, jump ropes and obstacle course games.
These activities enables students to develop physically, listening skills, cooperation, and other academic skills at once in a fun manner.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting for my class will help my students in improving balance, coordination and strength during the entire school year. The different types of balls and materials will enable students to play and learn at the same time. For instance, they will play "catch" with a partner. This activity will help the students to learn playing with others, listening skills and using the body in different directions to throw and catch a ball. The basketball hoop will help students to aim at a target and play cooperatively.
These materials allows them to work together, develop language and listening skills, and promote a healthy growth through the physical activities.
