Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Reading, math and science, but what about physical education? Physical education is a big part in developing students to be well rounded. Having a sound physical education program is essential to having students well prepared for the twenty-first century.
I have a classroom full of energetic fourth graders who are eager to learn and play.
We are part of a large metropolitan school district. My class is ethnically diverse. Our school has a large population of students who have various disabilities.
My Project
By having this physical education equipment, my students will be able to work on their fitness skills. Students who develop the mind and body connection tend to do much better academically. My goal is to develop the whole child and not just an emphasis on the standard subject areas such as reading and math. My students will connect using the physical education equipment to help them develop good health habits. While using the physical education equipment, students will keep a journal recording how their fitness level has improved. Then the students will use that information and graph their progress over time.
